Last year Version Big-Fi got nominated for “Best Dub Recording Or Album” at the 2008 Reggae Academy Awards in Kingston, Jamaica. It wouldn’t surprise us if the same thing happened again this year, because Version Big-Fi has started 2009 in a great dubbing mood with their second album “Crux Collide Hybridize”.
This release finds Tone (beats/dubs) and Papa Sparks (bass/samples) in a more downtempo and laid back mood. The 11 tracks on the album explore dub, dubstep and more, while not forgetting the heavy drums, the booming bass and the dub echo’s we all love so much.
And this time there is even more. The band took the original tracks even further down the spaced out road and released the result on the accompanying dub album “Dub Collide Hybridize“.
“Crux Collide Hybridize” and “Dub Collide Hybridize” are both available for download.
