After several EPs and singles, this is the first full-length album of Dubterror, simply self-titled “Dubterror“. Dubterror is the moniker of Simone Lombardi, born and raised in Italy but now operating from his own studio in Hackney, London. There he has been developing his dub skills for the past few years.
The result can be heard on this debut album, where dub meets soundscaping. The whole album is of a high quality, with some of the tracks (listen to the nu-roots steppers) that can’t wait to be played on a big soundsystem. But Dubterror is at his best when he mixes his dubs with some heavy dubstep or with dark electro and turns this into a 21st century dub thing. Nice one.
“Dubterror” is released on one of the UK’s longest standing dub imprints, Universal Egg. You can listen to some tracks on his myspace page. Check for instance “Reload Warrior” featuring Warrior Queen. You can find a few samples on Boomkat as well.
Meanwhile, watch Dubterror live on the mixing desk, with Brother Culture on the mic and Karborn on the vision mixer.Vodpod videos no longer available.
